Why is Pear Wasp learning suitable for my child?

Pear Wasp Learning is suitable for children due to including a unique character set within its activities.   All the characters, used in the system, promote positive well-being and are extremely relatable to modern-day children and family life.  The main character, Nefeel Pear Wasp, is a ten-year-old boy, who enjoys problem solving and is extremely resilient.  He enjoys challenges and thrives in situations where he can support and help his siblings overcome any difficulties they are enduring.  Nefeel’s family is a diverse set of characters, including a dog, who all demonstrate unique properties and stylistic differences.  All activities on the learning platform have been written to explore the daily antics of the Pear Wasp children:

My new online learning system is something I have worked tirelessly on for months.  From an idea to it actually becoming a reality has been a long process…a process that has been both- frustrating and elating in equal measures.  It has been frustrating because I needed it to be right; I needed each and every task to encapsulate my characters’ personalities; I needed each and every task to be educational, but also engaging and I needed each and every task to capture the imagination of your child so they could imagine themselves with the characters.  I have felt elated when my students have given me amazing feedback or when they have chuckled at reading about the different situations the characters find themselves in.  I am elated that I am finally ready to share the Pear Wasp kid’s journeys with your child.

As a parent of four children and an English teacher with fifteen-years’ experience I have witnessed first-hand the struggles that some children endure with aspects of literacy.  These struggles were apparent in my second youngest son.  My two older children were and still are avid readers, they would both get totally lost in a good story and were both always requesting new books to read.  My second youngest was totally different, his engagement in reading was non-existent and his reluctance to write was an obstacle that we had to overcome…and overcome it we did!  Nefeel Pear Wasp was created to initially engage my son in story-telling. My husband and I would take turns to make up stories, at our son’s bedtime, about the daily antics of Nefeel Pear Wasp. Nefeel Pear Wasp has helped us through a massive barrier and because the character started to become familiar to our son he would begin to add his own detail into each story.  To see our son finally engage was a massive relief to us both.  The listening to stories at bed time, soon became reading stories at bedtime and then his writing started to improve too.

I have created an online English learning experience based around characters that are relatable and promote positivity.  I believe the learning experience is creative, stimulating and motivational.  Each task is educational and engaging, but each one also offers an element of challenge.  Each year group covers age appropriate material for: reading, writing and spelling and material is released on a weekly basis.  Content for each year group will be added regularly and certificates will be issued on completion of tasks.  I have thoroughly enjoyed creating the content for the website and my son has also enjoyed giving me ideas to include in the content too.  I am confident that my learning system will engage your child and take them on a magical learning journey!
